Red Nose Day Comedy Classroom Competition
Closing date: 28th February 2017.
Prizes: One winner in each age category will have their jokes performed live on the Red Nose Day Blue Peter special broadcast on 23 March as well as getting the chance to visit the studio to see the show. The winner will receive an orange Blue Peter competition winner’s badge. Winners will also receive a special Comedy Classroom award. 2 highly commended entries in each age category and entries that we shortlist as being in our top 30 will also receive an orange Blue Peter badge.
Entry fee: None stated.
Looking for: Pupils are required to submit 3 rib-tickling jokes. These jokes must be original and cannot be copies of well-known jokes. The jokes could be about anything you like but they must be original, creative, well written and funny! They must be written in English and suitable for family audiences of all ages, and handwritten legibly on the entry form supplied.
Further info: The competition is split into two age categories: 6 to 8-year-olds - 9 to 12-year-olds.

PrintExpress.co.uk Story Competition
Closing date: 31st March 2017.
Prizes: The winner will receive £50 in book tokens, and £175 in book tokens for their school.
The competition has no entry fee, and is open to those aged between 5 and 13 (there are two age brackets - 5 to 9, and 10 to 13)
Looking for: Stories up to 500 words.
Further info: The competition is only open to full time residents of the UK. Only one entry per child, and stories must be an original piece of fiction. Stories can only be entered by a parent, teacher or guardian on behalf of a child.

PDSA 'Animal heroes' writing competition - Buddy saves the day
Closing date: 26th May 2017.
Prizes: 1st Prize - The winner will get a set of signed books by Hilary Robinson, an Amazon Kindle and VIP tour at one of our Pet Hospitals to meet Hilary, our vets, nurses and pet patients.
Runners-up - 3 runners up will each win a signed copy of Hilary's latest book 'Flo of the Somme' and a special Pet Protectors goodie bag.

Theme: Animal heroes.
Looking for: Aim for a 1,000 word story.
Further info: Open to anyone age 16 or under. One entry per child.
